the problem
Composite materials are widely used for their excellent strength-to-weight performance and durability. However, the use of cross-linked thermoset resins and strong fibre–matrix adhesion prevents easy reprocessing, unlike thermoplastics.
Current and emerging technologies are often expensive and energy-intensive, requiring high temperatures and pressures. Chemical recycling processes can also produce large volumes of solvent waste contributing to higher environmental and economic costs.

our SOLUTION
ChemR is a proprietary chemical recycling process that can uniquely reuse its solvent between recycling batches and is capable of operating at room temperature and pressure.
It delivers high-purity recovered fibres ready for reinjection into composite manufacturing. With direct solvent reuse and mild operating conditions, ChemR offers a cleaner and more cost-effective alternative for manufacturers facing carbon reduction targets and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements.
Originally developed in collaboration with University of Bristol, now in Uplift360's Bristol facilities.
